• Systemic infection - 400 mg on the first day, 200 to 400 mg per day for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks.
• Histoplasmosis - 400 to 800 mg daily for 6 to 12 months.

As with any serious infection, regular doctor checkups are advisable; not only to ensure the medication is working properly, but also to monitor for any developing adverse effects and to verify that the infection has been eradicated so no further treatment is need.
